A Memoir
From Boy to Soldier to Man
A Memoir
Donald Ray Willingham was born on April 7, 1950, in Amarillo, Texas, the youngest of eight children. A Vietnam veteran, husband, father, leader, and storyteller, Donald spent his life working hard, serving others, and collecting experiences that shaped the man he became. Through triumphs, hardships, love, loss, military service, and countless life lessons, he developed a deep appreciation for family, friendship, faith, and perseverance.
In these pages, Donald shares his memories with honesty, humor, and humility, preserving not only the events of his life but also the thoughts and lessons that accompanied them. His hope is that future generations will better understand where they came from, the challenges that were faced, and the values that helped carry his family through life.
